IP address lookup
Paste an IP address, a domain, a link or a whole log line. IPNixa picks out the public IPs and shows where each one appears to be, which network runs it and, on request, who registered it.
- Finds IPs inside domains, links and log lines
- Approximate location and map when available
- ISP, organization and autonomous system
- No account or saved lookup history

Postal code and time describe the estimated IP location. PTR is a public DNS label and does not identify a person or device.

Loading map…
This map shows an estimated network location, not a device, person or street address.
Maps load from OpenFreeMap; your browser contacts its tile servers. No GPS permission is requested.
From an IP address to a clearer picture
- Enter the public IPv4 or IPv6 address you want to inspect.
- Select Look up IP. Location and network data are requested for that address.
- Read the source and check time with the result. Explore the map when coordinates are available.
What an IP lookup tells you
An IP address identifies an internet connection or network exit. The ISP and ASN help identify the network associated with it. A VPN, mobile carrier, company gateway or hosting network can change what the address represents.
A network location, with room for uncertainty
The map uses coordinates supplied by IPQuery. They may describe a provider gateway, VPN exit or regional estimate. City and coordinates can be missing, and different databases may disagree. No GPS request is made and the marker does not identify a person or home.
IP lookup questions
How is this different from My IP?
My IP automatically checks the connection used by your browser. IP Lookup checks only the public address you enter. Looking up another address does not test your own VPN or connection.
Can I look up an IPv6 address?
Yes. Enter a public IPv6 literal, without brackets, a port or a zone identifier. Equivalent IPv6 spellings are normalized before the lookup.
Why can I not look up 192.168.1.1?
Private, local, shared and documentation addresses do not identify one public internet location. Use your public address from My IP instead.
Why is the location wrong or the map missing?
IP location is approximate. Providers can route traffic through another city and databases can be outdated. The map appears only when valid coordinates are returned. Missing data is not replaced with your own location.
Does this scan the entered IP?
No. It retrieves existing location and network records from IPQuery. It does not connect to the target address, test ports or identify the person using it.
Can an IP lookup find someone’s exact location or home?
No. IP location is an estimate for the network, such as a provider gateway or VPN exit, not a street address. Only the internet provider can link an address to a subscriber, and those records are not public.
